There, he often depicted the city of the Belle \u00c9poque and its nocturnal scenes, illuminated by the recently introduced electric lighting, which revealed the chlorotic faces of its residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La Loge<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is dedicated to Marius-Ary Leblond \u2014 a pseudonym adopted by the writers and journalists Georges Ath\u00e9nas and Aim\u00e9 Merlo. Under this shared name, the two cousins, originally from the island of R\u00e9union, published their journalistic and art-critical writings. Discussing the works in which Anglada Camarasa portrayed the nightlife of Paris, they highlighted the connection between the feminine world and dance, suggesting the deceptive purity of a nocturnal femininity whose representation conveyed emotion through the rhythm of movement:<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6f30504 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"6f30504\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42eb333 elementor-widget__width-inherit elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42eb333\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Beyond the hedonism and sensuality of Anglada&#8217;s paintings, these critics identified a choreographic paradigm in which aesthetics and sensation are rooted in bodily movement, whose dance continually reinvents form.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The article that Marius-Ary Leblond devoted to Anglada in 1901 may well explain the dedication inscribed on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La Loge<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, as both article and painting are close in dating and subject matter.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16e734c e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"16e734c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5e0aaed elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5e0aaed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u201cDance is the essential rhythm of amorous life, and Anglada has captured, with immediacy and force, the synthetic phases and the representative forms of emotion and the associations of life.
